Greenfield Health Systems has been a supporter of Home Dialysis Central since 2007.
Greenfield Health Systems, a division of the Henry Ford Health System, is the second-largest not-for profit dialysis provider in the country, and uses the strength of our employees, knowledge, and available technologies to better the lives of more than 2,000 patients throughout both Michigan and Ohio. We provide home dialysis to approximately 30% of those patients. Home dialysis includes CAPD, APD, and Daily Home Hemodialysis. We provide both short daily and extended treatments. Training by experienced staff in a comfortable environment is the hallmark of the "Greenfield Experience". An on-call nurse is available 24 hours a day for any questions or concerns. Supplies are delivered to your home each month for added convenience.
Peritoneal Dialysis training is usually completed within one week. Home Hemodialysis training is 3 weeks. These time periods are individualized to meet the needs of each patient. Training is provided by a registered nurse. After training is completed, patients attend a clinic visit once a month to see the dialysis care team which includes the physician, a nurse, a social worker, and a dietitian. Patients who choose a home modality have more control of their personal schedule, a more liberal diet, and experience more strength and energy. Home dialysis can be a vital part of a total life plan for a person diagnosed with end stage renal disease.
