Jim Curtis has a lifelong interest in home dialysis. His "chores" in high school included rebuilding a Kiil dialyzer and performing minor machine maintenance on the Drake-Willock 4002 dialysis machine.
For the last 30 years, Jim has worked in all aspects of dialysis, including direct patient care, machine maintenance, and Technical Manager of a large hospital facility (550 patients) as well as Area Manager for a national dialysis provider, overseeing the operations of five dialysis facilities.
When at the hospital in Portland, Jim managed the logistics for a home dialysis program that included 80 home hemo patients and 50 peritoneal patients. As Area Manager for the national company, he started a new home dialysis program, which had the first nocturnal dialysis patient in the northwest for that company.
Jim started his consulting business in February 2004. JC&A provides consulting services to dialysis facilities and develops education material for the Northwest Renal Network. Jim is also co-founder of Home Dialysis Plus, LTD, which is developing new technology to improve home hemodialysis.
