Home dialysis in the news
Two recent newspaper articles feature DaVita patients and tell the general public about the benefits of daily home hemo. Ken Withrow, a 73 year old Texan, feels much better without the "dialysis hangover" he used to have after his in-center treatments. Kimberley Delaney, 43, from Oregon, has the energy to be active with DaVita Patient Citizens and help promote the Kidney Care Quality Improvement Act, now that she's dialyzing six times per week.

Is it best to have a "Life and Death" committee, as Seattle did—or to use "first come, first served" as a basis for deciding? Dr. Stanley Shaldon kindly contributed this historic magazine article to bring us back in time and help us better appreciate today's resources. Download the PDF.
