Topic of the month: ultrapure dialysate

In a typical dialysis treatment with a typical machine, a patient is exposed to about 90 liters of dialysate—which comes in contact with the blood through the dialysate membrane. Ultrapure dialysate contains fewer bacteria and endotoxin than standard dialysate—which has some very real health benefits. Learn all about it.

Innovative papers in home dialysis

Dr. Amy Williams, from the Mayo Clinics, sums up a research study that found significantly fewer symptoms and better quality of life in patients who switched from conventional 3 times per week in-center hemo to 6 short hemo treatments per week. Read the details here.

Bob Gibbs has diabetes, heart problems, weighs 200 lbs—and is thriving on CCPD
